Will the ban on iPhone 16 in Indonesia affect India also? These two companies benefit – Top News Bulletin

The sale of iPhone 16 has been banned in Indonesia. The ban on Apple's latest iPhone is going to have a big impact on Indian users as well. The Indonesian government has imposed this ban on the new iPhone 16 series due to not meeting local investment requirement compliance. According to the report, the Indonesian government had set a condition for Apple to keep the shipment of its smartphones and tablets as per 40 percent domestic content requirements. If this is not done, Apple products will neither be marketed nor sold in Indonesia.

Apple has invested 1.48 trillion rupiah in Indonesia, which is 14.75 million rupiah less than the 1.71 trillion rupiah set by the government. According to Indonesian regulations, any product sold in the country will require 40 percent local content, which includes components, labor and facilities. Apple has missed the investment target of iPhone 16. Its sale without the necessary IMEI certification will be considered illegal in the country.

What will be the impact on Indian users?

The government of Indonesia has banned the sale as well as entry of iPhone 16 within the country's borders. The number of tourists traveling from India to Indonesia is in thousands, due to which they will also be affected by this ban. If you are going to Indonesia with iPhone 16 then your phone will not work there. In such a situation, you will need to carry a secondary smartphone.

Advantage of these two companies

Apple is not the top player in Indonesia's smartphone market, yet other brands are going to benefit from the ban on the company's latest iPhone. Apple is the 7th largest player in the Indonesia smartphone market. Currently, there are 350 million active smartphone users in Indonesia, of which 100 million users are under 30 years of age. According to IDC report, both Oppo and Samsung are big smartphone players in Indonesia. In such a situation, these two companies will get the most benefit from this ban. Both these companies make premium smartphones.
