The country's largest telecom company Jio has created history by providing 4G/5G network in Siachen Glacier. Jio has become the first telecom operator to provide high speed mobile network in the world's highest and toughest battleground. Reliance Jio has set up a 5G base station in Siachen Glacier in collaboration with the Indian Army. Before the Army Day on January 15, Jio has given a new gift to the army personnel by providing 4G and 5G networks.
First company to provide 5G in Siachen
Jio has done wonders by providing mobile connectivity in this harsh and inaccessible area with the help of Army signalers. Jio has successfully deployed a plug-and-play pre-configured device at a forward post in Siachen Glacier using fully indigenous 5G technology. For this, the telecom operator has worked with Army signalers to conduct several training sessions, system pre-configuration and extensive testing, after which this has been possible.
The Indian Army played a key role in logistics management, including transporting Jio's devices to the Siachen Glacier. This partnership has ensured connectivity at an altitude of 16,000 feet in the Karakoram range of the Himalayas. This is an area where the temperature drops to -50 degrees Celsius. This initiative of Jio will solve the communication problem of the country's armed forces in protecting the borders of India in the most difficult situations.
historical achievement
Not only this, the country's largest telecom company is continuously expanding its network in Ladakh region. For this, the telecom operator is giving priority to the forward posts on the border. With the launch of 5G service in Siachen Glacier, Reliance Jio has set a new example for other telecom operators. Providing superfast connectivity in the most inaccessible conditions on earth is a historic achievement in itself.
