IRCTC Down: The service of IRCTC, the official online ticket booking platform of Indian Railways, was down once again today i.e. on 31st December. Lakhs of railway passengers in the country faced difficulty in booking tickets. This is the third time in the last one month that this problem has occurred in the IRCTC website and app. Even before this, due to problem in the service of IRCTC, users were not able to book tickets through the app and Website.
Service remained closed for 50 minutes
Every day lakhs of people book train tickets through IRCTC. Between 10:03 am and 10:51 am, users faced problems in logging into the IRCTC website and app. While logging into the IRCTC website, users were getting maintenance message. The time to book AC Tatkal tickets is 10 am. In such a situation, a large number of passengers currently use the IRCTC website and app.
Service went down three times in December
Currently, users are able to log in to the IRCTC website. However, some users are still facing problems while logging into the app. Due to IRCTC service being stalled, many users have expressed their anger on social media platform X. Earlier on December 9 and December 26 also, due to IRCTC website being down, users had to face difficulty in booking tickets online.
Let us tell you that about 12.5 lakh tickets are sold daily on the online ticket booking platform of Indian Railways. According to the data of Indian Railways, 84 percent of the total tickets of Indian Railways are booked through IRCTC only. In such a situation, due to problem in its service, lakhs of passengers face difficulty in booking tickets. Besides, it also causes loss to the revenue of Railways. At present, no official statement has been issued by Indian Railways on IRCTC service being down.
