Google has added many new features to its messaging app. These new features will help in filtering spam calls and messages coming on the phone. While rolling out these features, Google has warned that any kind of fake message can be identified in real time. Google has supported Gemini AI for this. This feature will identify messages coming from international numbers. If suspicious messages and calls are sent, they will be blocked.
Spam Protection
Google has added a spam protection feature to the messaging app, which will put messages coming from any unknown number in the spam list. This feature of Google uses on-device machine learning to identify conversations. Google claims that these text messages will remain private unless they are reported as spam.
Dangerous links will be blocked
Along with Google's spam protection feature, a feature to block dangerous and fake links has also been added. This feature has been rolled out in India as well as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. If any message coming from an unknown number contains a link, you will be notified and then blocked.

Apart from this, Google will also issue warnings regarding suspicious content in messages. Any such suspicious content will be blurred so that it is not visible to users. This is an end-to-end encryption based feature, which will blur the content using on-device machine learning.
contact verification
Contact verification feature has also been released in Google Messages. This feature will check the message before sending it. This feature will work in Android 9 or above operating system.
international call protection
Google has rolled out this feature to automatically hide international calls. However, it has just been launched for Singapore users as a pilot project.
