A special feature like Google Search is going to come in WhatsApp. This feature is currently being tested for Meta's instant messaging platform. This feature of the platform with more than 200 crore active users will allow users to search the received images in-app. This feature of WhatsApp is being introduced specifically to stop fake posts being shared on the messaging platform. These days, fake posts are shared rapidly on social media platforms.
Fake images will be identified
This image lookup feature of WhatsApp has been rolled out with the beta version 2.24.23.13 update of WhatsApp. According to the latest report by WABetaInfo, users get a lookup icon on the images they receive in the messages, through which they can check the image by searching it on the web. This feature will work just like Google's reverse image lookup tool. Not only this, even before the user sends the image, he will get the option to search it on the web.
Beta users on Android open the app after downloading the latest update. After this, after selecting the image, tap on three dots, after which they will get the option to search the image on the web. In the coming times, this reverse image lookup tool of WhatsApp can act as a powerful weapon in stopping rumours.
