Making recharge plans expensive for Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) has become costly. All three private companies have lost more than 1 crore users in September. At the same time, there has been a tremendous increase in the userbase of government telecom company BSNL. For the last three months, the users of private telecom companies are continuously decreasing. Jio has suffered the most loss, which has lost about 80 lakh users. At the same time, the users of Airtel and Vi have also reduced significantly.
More than 1 crore users reduced
According to the new report of TRAI, Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea together have lost about 1.1 crore users in September. At the same time, BSNL has added 8.49 lakh new users during this period. BSNL's userbase has increased rapidly to 9.18 crore in September. Soon, the number of BSNL users may also cross 10 crores. Jio has lost the maximum 79.69 lakh users in September. At the same time, 14.34 lakh users of Airtel and 15.53 lakh users of Vodafone Idea have decreased.
Companies facing the brunt of expensive recharge
In July, all three private telecom companies had increased their mobile tariffs by 10 to 27 percent. Because of this, the users of these three companies are continuously decreasing for the last three months. After losing the maximum number of users, Jio's userbase has come down to 46.37 crore in September. At the same time, the userbase of Airtel has also decreased to 38.34 crores and the userbase of Vi has reached 21.24 crores. BSNL has got a huge benefit due to the plans of private companies being expensive. Chairman of the government telecom company Robert Ravi had recently said that BSNL plans will not be expensive in the near future. The company is currently focusing on improving the network infrastructure.
BSNL increased tension
BSNL has added more than 65 lakh new users in the last three months, which is going to increase tension for private telecom companies. Apart from this, the government telecom company is also rapidly expanding its 4G/5G infrastructure. The company has made more than 41,000 new 4G mobile towers live so far. The company has installed more than 50 thousand new 4G mobile towers. BSNL will install 1 lakh new 4G mobile towers across India by June next year. After this the company will officially launch 4G service. Besides, BSNL has also prepared for the trial of 5G service. BSNL's 5G service may also be launched by the end of next year. The company is already providing 5G ready SIM cards to customers.
