Smartphones of Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco are going to change from January 2025. The company has taken a big decision, due to which Google's tension has increased. In all smartphones running HyperOS, users will get an alternative app store apart from Google Play Store. This app store is completely developed in India and designed by the Indian company PhonePe. The company has said that this alternative Indus App Store will be available in Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco phones available in India from January 2025.
Users' demand
GetApps store is available in smartphones of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco, regarding which users of these brands have made many complaints on the forum. There are bulk advertisements on this app store, due to which users have expressed their displeasure. To overcome this problem of users, Xiaomi has decided to integrate PhonePe Indus app store into its devices. This app store will replace GetApps found in HyperOS. However, this is going to affect Google also.
loss to google
Google's Play Store is available as the default app store in Android smartphones of Xiaomi or any other brand. Google takes advantage of this and charges arbitrary fees from app developers. Many times, complaints of violation of anti-trust rules have been made against Google in many countries including India. This Indus App Store of PhonePe charges less from app developers, due to which they will get a lot of relief.
PhonePe's Indus App Store will be available in Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones available in India from January. The company claims that users are going to get a seamless experience because of this. Please note that GetApps does not currently support any Xiaomi device. The user interface of PhonePe's Indus App Store is quite friendly, due to which users will not face any problem in installing the app on their phones.
