Violation of anti-trust rules
Canada's Competition Bureau has filed a lawsuit against Google's parent company Alphabet, accusing it of unfair business. The tribunal has recommended a heavy fine on Google due to violation of rules. In this matter, Google said that this allegation is wrong because buyers and sellers have many choices in this ad. We will present our stand on this in our court.
Dan Taylor, Google's vice president of global ads, said that our advertising technology tool helps websites and apps fund their content. The Competition Bureau of Canada opened an investigation in 2020, saying that Google had violated the rules of fair competition. In its investigation, the agency said that Google has a huge stake in the web advertising and ad-tech sector, which strengthens its market power.
