Ban imposed due to this reason
Indonesia's Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Curtasmita said that the use of iPhone 16 will be banned in the country until Apple meets its local investment requirements. According to the report, Apple has not released the iPhone 16 in Indonesia because according to the government there, the company has not met the investment target.
Apple has invested 1.48 trillion rupiah in Indonesia, which is 14.75 million rupiah less than the 1.71 trillion rupiah set by the government. According to Indonesian regulations, any product sold in the country will require 40 percent local content, which includes components, labor and facilities. Apple has missed the investment target of iPhone 16. Its sale without the necessary IMEI certification will be considered illegal in the country.
