A video on YouTube has increased the tension of Google CEO Sundar Pichai. A Mumbai court has issued a contempt notice to Pichai. Google's video streaming platform YouTube has been accused of not following the court order. YouTube has millions of users in the world. The content shared on Google's video streaming platform quickly becomes viral, due to which the streaming platform is sometimes brought into disrepute. Although YouTube's policy is quite strict, still many objectionable content gets shared on it.
What is the matter?
This notice has also been given to Google CEO Sundar Pichai regarding a video uploaded on YouTube. A video uploaded on YouTube, which was ordered to be removed by the court a few years ago, has not been removed from YouTube. A contempt notice has been issued against Sundar Pichai for not following the court order. Additional Chief Justice of Mumbai Court has sent a notice to Sundar Pichai asking why action should not be initiated against him for contempt of the court and not following its earlier order.
A few years ago, Dhyan Foundation had filed a lawsuit against YouTube. A derogatory video was uploaded on YouTube regarding the founder of this foundation, Yogi Ashwini, in which he was called 'hypocritical Baba'. The court had ordered to remove this video from YouTube. YouTube did not completely comply with this order, due to which a notice has been issued by the court.
Accusation of tarnishing the image
This video has been removed from YouTube in India, but this video can still be watched in foreign countries. In the order given regarding this derogatory video, the court had asked YouTube to remove the video from its platform, but YouTube has blocked it only from India. Dhyan Foundation says that Google is deliberately tarnishing the image of Yogi Ashwini. The next hearing of this case is to be held on January 3, 2025.
