On Wednesday, the government gave many important information related to the telecom sector in the country's Parliament. There has been a huge increase in the number of mobile users and internet users in the country in recent times. According to the data disclosed by the government, as of October 31, the total number of mobile users in the country has reached 115.12 crore. This information was given by Communications and Rural Development Minister Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani in the Lok Sabha.
Communications and Rural Development Minister Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani, in response to a question in the Lok Sabha, said that out of 6,44,131 villages in the country, mobile coverage has reached a total of 6,23,622 villages. The special thing is that out of these, about 6,14,564 villages are now connected to 4G network.
Union Minister gave big information
Earlier, Communications and Rural Development Minister Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani had said that under the Prime Minister's Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan, about 4,543 such vulnerable tribal group settlements were identified, out of which 1,136 tribal group settlements have been connected with mobile connectivity. He said that till October 31, about 1,018 mobile towers have been approved by the Digital Bharat Nidhi Fund. PVTG settlements will be connected to 4G networks through these mobile towers.
Work accelerated in rural areas
Giving information, the Union Minister said that the Central Government is working to improve telecom connectivity by installing mobile towers in rural and remote areas of the country by implementing projects through Digital India Fund. He informed that BharatNet project is being implemented by Digital India Fund in a phased manner to provide broadband connectivity to all Gram Panchayats (GP) in the country. He informed that the existing network of BharatNet Phase-I and Phase II is being upgraded rapidly.
The government had said last week that 5G services have been provided in about 779 districts of the country till October 31. Apart from this, 5G based transceiver stations have been installed at more than 4.6 lakh different places in the country.
