Some people eat potatoes, sweets and fried food during the fast, which increases the weight instead of reducing it. If you want to lose weight by fasting, then include these special fruits, vegetables and nuts in your diet. What to eat for weight loss during Navratri fast?

  1. Fruit- To lose weight during fasting, include as many fruits as possible in your diet. Eat 1 apple in the morning at the beginning of the day. This will provide energy. After this, consume fruits like banana, papaya, pear, guava, orange and grapes. Eating fruits will provide fiber and plenty of energy to the body. Fruits are rich in fiber which fills the stomach and provides energy. Water-rich fruits help in rapid weight loss. Have at least one fruit meal a day.

  2. Drink coconut water- To stay hydrated throughout the day, drink coconut water in the morning. This will prevent water shortage in the body and will help in weight loss. By drinking coconut water the body gets essential vitamins and minerals. This brings energy to the body and removes the problems of gas, acidity and burning sensation in the stomach on an empty stomach.

  3. Dry fruits- The body needs strength during Navratri fast. People who fast for 9 days must eat a handful of dry fruits every day. Dry fruits will provide energy to the body and will fulfill the deficiency of essential vitamins. You can eat cashews, almonds, raisins, walnuts and dates during the fast. This will provide fiber and there will be no problem of constipation. You can also eat dry fruits by making laddus.

  4. Vegetables- During fasting, you can eat many vegetables which reduce weight. Eat potatoes sparingly to lose weight. Eat bottle gourd and pumpkin instead. You can eat vegetables like cucumber, carrot and tomato, sweet potato. Especially during the fast, make sure to prepare bottle gourd vegetable and eat it. This will reduce obesity and the stomach will also fill easily.

  5. Buttermilk and curd- During fasting you have to pay more attention to liquid intake. For this, include curd and buttermilk in your diet. Instead of eating curd, it would be better to make buttermilk or lassi and drink it. You can drink buttermilk by mixing cumin seeds and rock salt. Drink lemon water and jaljeera or milk once a day at any time. This will fill your stomach and you will also feel less hungry.
