This festival is celebrated with great pomp in many places of India including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. During Chhath Puja, people observe a waterless fast for 36 hours. From bathing to offering water to the Sun God, there are some rules for this puja, which need to be followed. Some things should be included in the worship of Chhath. If you do not include these things, then Chhath puja is considered incomplete. Let us know about some such things.
-
Bottle gourd, gram pulses and rice- For your information, let us tell you that Chhath Puja starts with Nahay-Khay. Those who observe Nirjala fast on Chhath, have to eat bottle gourd, gram pulses and rice on this day. The worship of Nahay-Khay is considered incomplete without these three things – bottle gourd, gram pulses and rice.
-
Thekua and banana- Chhath Puja Prasad is not complete without Thekua and banana. You can also include other things in the Prasad but do not forget to include Thekua and banana.
-
Vermilion- Orange vermillion is also kept in Chhath Puja. Married women observing fast during Chhath Puja apply orange vermillion on their maang. It is believed that this puja is not complete without vermilion.
-
Coconut and sugarcane- Arghya is offered to Sun God in Chhath Puja. Keeping coconut and sugarcane at this time is considered auspicious. Apart from this, having soup in puja is also very important. If soup is not included in the puja ingredients, your Chhath puja will be considered incomplete.
If you are also celebrating the festival of Chhath this time, then you should try to include all these things during the puja. Your puja will not be considered complete due to the mistake of not including any one of these things.
