If you are a diabetic patient then you must include bottle gourd in your diet. This vegetable rich in nutrients not only controls the sugar level but also makes your heart healthy. Bottle gourd contains about 92% water. Besides, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber are found in large quantities in it. It improves digestion and reduces bad cholesterol levels. Due to which your heart becomes healthy and the chances of heart related diseases are reduced. Today we have brought the recipe of bottle gourd soup for you. So let us tell you how to make this soup?

Ingredients to make bottle gourd soup:

1 bottle gourd, desi ghee – 1 tsp, cumin – 1/2 tsp, black pepper – 1 pinch, ginger – 1 piece, green coriander leaves, red chilli – 1 pinch, salt – as per taste

Method to make bottle gourd soup:

  • Step 1: To make bottle gourd soup, first take the bottle gourd, wash it and peel it thoroughly. After peeling, cut the bottle gourd into fine pieces. Now turn on the gas and place a pan on it and then add 1 spoon of ghee in it. When the ghee becomes hot, temper it with cumin seeds and then add bottle gourd. Let the gourd cook thoroughly. Take some time and grate the bottle gourd in the pan with the help of a big ladle.

  • Second step: When the bottle gourd is cooked, grind it in a mixer. After grinding, put the bottle gourd pulp back in the pan and add water to it. Now after this add salt as per taste in the soup and then add grated ginger, black pepper powder, red chili powder to the soup and mix it.

  • Step 3: Cook the soup on low flame for 15 to 20 minutes. Your bottle gourd soup is ready. Garnish it with green coriander leaves and black pepper powder and serve.
