How to roast sugar candy: In winter, if you eat hot sweet potato chaat with a little black salt, roasted cumin, chaat masala, finely chopped green coriander, chilli and onion along with a squeeze of lemon, you will forget the rest of the taste. The interesting thing is that sweet potatoes can be roasted very easily even at home. Nowadays, sweet potatoes can be roasted in oven, air fryer and even small tandoor, but if you do not have all these, then roasted sweet potatoes can still be tasted. So let us tell you three ways by which you can roast sweet potatoes without oven or tandoor.
Ways to Roast Sweet Potatoes
Roasted sweet potatoes on pan- The tried-and-tested method is to roast sweet potatoes on a griddle. If the pan containing the roti is heavy, then the work can be even easier. Wash the sweet potatoes and place them on the pan, applying very little ghee. Cover the pan completely with a kadhai or pan. Remember the gas should be on the lowest flame, turn the sweet potatoes once after about 10 minutes. Fry for 10 more minutes and your hot roasted sweet potatoes are ready. This way the sweet potatoes will neither burn nor stick to the bottom. Yes, if the pan is light then take the sweet potatoes a little thinner.
Kadhai or cooker will also work- If you want, you can use the same method in a heavy pan or cooker also. Clean the sweet potato thoroughly, apply some grease on it and place the sweet potato in a heavy based pan or pan. After this, keep the gas very low and cover the vessel well. Turn the sweet potatoes after 10 minutes. After keeping it in the cooker in the same way, cook it on SIM gas for 15 minutes. This will prevent whistling and the sweet potatoes will roast easily without water.
Fry sweet potatoes in salt- If you want to roast sweet potatoes while working in the kitchen, then take a heavy pan, add half the salt powder in it. When it becomes very hot, add the sweet potatoes and keep turning them occasionally. Roasted hot sweet potatoes will be ready in about 15 minutes, that too with a sweet and slightly salty taste.
