New Delhi: Diwali celebrations may fade away in many parts of the country this week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in many states. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to be clear in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. Whereas there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
Rain expected to continue here till November 3
The weather department has also predicted light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning over various parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, coastal Lakshadweep and southern Karnataka. Actually, the effect of Cyclone Dana is still there in these areas. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal may receive sporadic rain from October 31 to November 3, while thunderstorms and lightning are expected in interior areas of Karnataka till November 2. There may also be sporadic rain in Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep between November 3.

How will the weather be in Bihar-UP?
Cyclone Dana has affected the weather patterns ahead of Diwali. Mornings and evenings have become cool with a slight drop in day temperatures in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. According to IMD, these conditions are expected to persist till Diwali. After this the temperature is expected to drop further. Due to this, cold may increase in the coming days and November will start with low temperatures. That means people of UP and Bihar should take out winter clothes.
According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain will occur over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, South Karnataka, parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the next 24 hours. Light rain is also possible in West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, South Konkan and Goa, Lakshadweep, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Light snowfall is expected in the upper areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.
