New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday said that if she wins the Lok Sabha by-election from Wayanad, this will definitely be her first visit as a public representative, but not as a 'people's fighter' because democracy, Fighting for justice and the values enshrined in the Constitution has been the foundation of his life.
Priyanka will work together with the public
Priyanka Gandhi had filed her nomination as a Congress candidate from Wayanad constituency on October 23. In an open letter to the people of Wayanad on Saturday, she said that she will work with them and help them solve the challenges faced by them. Urging people to support her, the Congress leader said that after being elected as MP, her work will deepen her relations with the people of Wayanad and she will make every possible effort to fight their battle.
Wayanad people guide and teacher
He said the people of Wayanad would be “my guides and teachers” in this journey. Priyanka Gandhi said, “You will be my guide and teacher in this journey which (I hope) will be my first journey as a public representative but not my first journey as a people's fighter.” Fighting for democracy, justice and the values enshrined in our Constitution has been the foundation of my life.'' He said in his letter, ''I look forward to carrying forward this fight for the future of all of us with your support and if I will be very grateful to you if you choose me to be your MP.
Voting will be held in Wayanad on November 13.
Along with Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi was also elected from Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh in this Lok Sabha election. Later he decided to leave the Wayanad seat. For this reason by-elections are being held here. Voting will be held in Wayanad on November 13 and counting of votes will take place on November 23. If elected from Wayanad, Priyanka will become a member of any House for the first time. She entered active politics before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Since then she has been fulfilling the responsibility of party general secretary. If elected, Priyanka Gandhi will become an MP for the first time and it will also be the first time that three members of the Gandhi family – Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka will be in Parliament together.
