New Delhi: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Madani has welcomed the Supreme Court's decision on the Madarsa Board. He said, 'The decision of the Supreme Court should be welcomed. There is a complaint against our courts, especially the lower courts, that their decisions are against justice in many cases.
What else did Madani say?
Maulana Mahmood Madani said that a similar decision had been taken by the High Court, in which they were declared illegal and the system of running the Madrasa itself was called unconstitutional. Today the Supreme Court has taken a good decision with some observations.
Madani said that the CJI has said that live and let live. This phrase has a lot of meaning. Today the Muslims of India are feeling discouraged. There are many reasons for this. I think this decision will be a relief for everyone. I congratulate UP Madrasa Board Association, Teachers Association for their fight.
Madani said that the way communal forces and many ministers in power are openly appealing for violence and attacking the existence of madrasas, this statement of the Supreme Court is an important message.
What is the whole matter?
It is noteworthy that earlier on March 22, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court had declared the UP Madrasa Board Act unconstitutional and had ordered to enroll all the students in general schools. However, this decision of the High Court was stayed by the Supreme Court on 5 April.
