There is a nationwide uproar over the use of animal fat in the Laddu Prasadam at the famous Tirupati Venkateswara temple in Andhra Pradesh. Now, a statement by spiritual guru and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar has come out on this issue. He said that we have read in history books how the Sepoy Mutiny took place in 1857. And now we see how deeply the sentiments of Hindus are hurt by this Laddu. This is something that cannot be forgiven.
“What about the ghee available in the market?”
He said, “This is malicious and it is the height of greed of those who are involved in this process, so they should be given severe punishment. All their property should be confiscated and they should be put in jail. Whoever is even remotely involved in this process. We need to check every food product, not just laddus. What about the ghee available in the market? Is anyone checking what they are putting in it? All those who adulterate food and label it as vegetarian and put any kind of non-vegetarian ingredients in it should be given very severe punishment.”

CM Chandrababu Naidu made the allegation
In fact, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday accused the previous YSR Congress government of using substandard material and animal fat to make laddus at the famous Tirupati temple during its tenure. Chandrababu Naidu said that he was surprised to know that the Jagan administration used animal fat instead of ghee in Tirupati Prasad. They should be ashamed who could not respect the religious sentiments of crores of devotees.
