A new government will be formed in Maharashtra on 5 December. Devendra Fadnavis will take oath as the Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar will take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. On December 4, the BJP legislature party will elect Fadnavis as its leader. But what role Eknath Shinde will play in the new government is not decided at the moment because Shinde is said to be angry. He canceled all the meetings on Monday citing his ill health as the reason, hence the round of discussions started.
Eknath Shinde's son Shrikant Shinde made it clear that he is neither going to become Deputy CM nor has he asked for any post in the Central Government. He termed the reports of his father being angry as baseless.
Amit Shah had called Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde to Delhi to decide on the division of departments, but Shinde refused to come to Delhi citing ill health. There is news that Shinde wants the Home Department along with becoming the Deputy CM, but the BJP leadership is not ready for this. He has been offered the urban development department.
It has become a trend in Maharashtra politics. Whenever a procession is taken out to visit the Chief Minister's official bungalow, one uncle or the other definitely gets angry. Last time Uddhav sat with his mouth full. Breaking all relations, they took away Fadnavis's mare and then joined the second procession.
