New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's three-day visit to the US will begin on Saturday. The three-day visit will focus on discussing ways to enhance cooperation among member countries to ensure stability in the Indo-Pacific region, finding a peaceful solution to the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza and addressing the concerns of the 'Global South'. PM Modi will attend the annual Quad summit in Wilmington, Delaware. Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi will address the 'Summit of the Future' at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, hold a roundtable with the CEOs of top American companies working in the technology sector and hold bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden and several other global leaders.

Will attend the Quad summit on September 21

Prime Minister Modi will first reach Wilmington where he will join the US President, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida in the Quad summit on September 21. Wilmington is Biden's hometown. Modi will also hold separate bilateral talks with the leaders of the three Quad countries. The Quad summit is expected to discuss ways to enhance cooperation among member countries to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region besides deliberating on the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, “We expect a number of new initiatives to be announced.” The Quad leaders will launch an ambitious new plan to prevent, detect, treat and reduce cancer, its impact on patients and their families. Misri said the Quad summit will focus on peace, progress and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. He said all leaders will discuss health security, climate change, emerging technologies, infrastructure, connectivity, counter-terrorism and humanitarian assistance.
