New Delhi: Mamata Banerjee's statement has once again started the discussion about leadership in the opposition India Alliance. Whereas BJP hit back at Mamata Banerjee's statement and said that no leader in the India alliance has faith in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari said that no leader of the Indi alliance has faith in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra. This alliance believes that Rahul Gandhi is a political failure… Sometimes Akhilesh Yadav says he is the leader, sometimes Mamata Banerjee says he is the leader, sometimes Stalin says he is the leader and everyone is in one voice. I say that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra are not leaders. We do not call Rahul Gandhi a childish person, the Bharat Alliance calls Rahul Gandhi a childish person.”
Let us tell you that Mamata Banerjee on Friday expressed dissatisfaction with the functioning of the opposition 'India' alliance and indicated her intention to take charge of it if she gets a chance. The Trinamool Congress chief said she would be able to handle dual responsibilities with the leadership of the opposition front while continuing her role as Bengal chief minister. He said in an interview, “I had formed the 'India' alliance, now it is up to those leading the front to manage it. If they can't do it, what can I do? All I would say is that there is a need to take everyone along.
The Chief Minister's comments came days after his party MP Kalyan Banerjee called on the Congress and other 'India' alliance partners to put aside their egos and recognize Mamata Banerjee as the leader of the opposition alliance. The BJP performed brilliantly in Maharashtra, securing a record number of seats, giving a landslide victory to the party-led ruling 'Mahayuti' alliance, while JMM's stellar performance in Jharkhand marked a strong comeback for the 'India' alliance.
