MUDA scam: High Court dismisses Siddaramaiah's petition against the Governor, says – Governor has done nothing wrong – Top News Bulletin

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah got a big setback from the High Court on Tuesday in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam case. The court has rejected his petition challenging the sanction given by Governor Thawarchand Gehlot to prosecute him. In such a situation, now the Chief Minister will have to face investigation in this case. However, after the order, Siddaramaiah has accused the BJP. He said, “BJP is doing politics of revenge. We will fight against them and will definitely win.”

Court's comment on the petition?

This case was being heard by a bench headed by Justice M. Nagaprasanna of the Karnataka High Court. The bench, while rejecting Siddaramaiah's petition filed in the court, said, “The Governor can take decisions in exceptional circumstances. In normal circumstances, the Governor has to work on the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers, but in exceptional circumstances he can take independent decisions. His order does not suffer from irrationality.” Let us tell you that, on August 17, Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot had given approval to run a case against Siddaramaiah. He is accused of submitting fake documents for compensation for the land of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

CM had said that the governor's decision was against constitutional rules

CM Siddaramaiah had filed a petition in the High Court against this case and said that this order of the Governor is an order given out of revenge in politics. He had also said in his petition that the Governor has given the order without thinking and against the constitutional rules. I have not done anything wrong in my 40 years of political career. Let the BJP protest, I am spotless. On which the High Court has heard today and rejected his petition.
