A painful road accident has occurred in Hassan district of Karnataka. An IPS officer died in a road accident while on his way to his first posting in Hassan district, police said on Monday. Police said that Harsh Bardhan who was 20 years old. He was selected as an IPS officer of 2023 batch of Karnataka cadre. He was a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
The tire burst and the car crashed into a tree.
Police said the accident occurred on Sunday evening when a tire of the police vehicle burst near Kittane in Hassan taluk. The driver then lost control and the vehicle collided with a house and a tree on the roadside.
Had serious head injuries
According to the police, Harsh Bardhan was on his way to Hassan to report for duty as a probationary assistant superintendent of police in Holenarsipur. Harsh Bardhan suffered serious head injuries and died during treatment at the hospital, while driver Manjegowda suffered minor injuries, the police official said.
Completed IPS training just a month ago
Police said the IPS officer had recently completed his IPS training at the Karnataka Police Academy in Mysore a month ago. This was his first job. He had secured 153rd rank in UPSC exam. Had also passed the Civil Services Examination in the first attempt itself.
