Hearing in SC on the case of Tirupati temple laddus, Subramaniam Swamy filed – Top News Bulletin


The matter of animal fat allegedly being found in the laddus of Tirupati temple is now to be heard in the Supreme Court. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust chairman and Rajya Sabha MP YV Subba Reddy have filed a petition in the Supreme Court. Now the Supreme Court will hear this on Monday (September 30).

CM Naidu's allegations should be investigated

Subramanian Swamy has filed a PIL in the Supreme Court demanding investigation into the allegations of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu has alleged that the offerings at Tirupati Tirumala temple have been adulterated with animal meat and other rotten substances.

Investigation should be conducted by SIT

Whereas former Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust and Rajya Sabha MP YV Subba Reddy, in his petition, has demanded to investigate these allegations by forming an Independent Investigation Committee (SIT) under a retired Supreme Court judge.

ICAR member demands investigation

On the other hand, a member of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on Friday demanded a high-level inquiry into the recent report of the National Dairy Development Board-Livestock and Feed Analysis and Study Centre. The report confirms the use of animal fat in the laddus of Tirupati.

Conservation of indigenous cattle heritage will get a boost

Along with this, he argued that this step will restore confidence in the temple offerings and promote the conservation of the country's indigenous cattle heritage. Venugopal Badarwada has also requested for a comprehensive investigation into the findings of the National Dairy Development Board- Center for Livestock and Feed Analysis and Studies (NDDB-CALF) report.
