Indira Gandhi held the reins of the country for three consecutive terms between 1966 and 1977 and then returned to this post in 1980 and was assassinated while still in office on 31 October 1984.

That speech a day before his death

It is said that Indira Gandhi had already realized her death. Therefore, a day before her death, Indira Gandhi changed her speech and said something in front of the public, which everyone was surprised to hear. Even before Indira Gandhi's death, her daughter-in-law Sonia was with her. Indira said, “Today I am here, tomorrow I may not be here…when I die, every drop of my blood will be used to strengthen India”. This line said by Indira felt like lightning. Her mentioning of her death in her speech seemed as if she herself was telling people that this was her last meeting.

Told Sonia – If something happens, don't cry

On October 31, Indira Gandhi's security guard shot her and she died, but a day before her death, Indira was quite restless. She could not sleep the whole night that day. That night, when his daughter-in-law Sonia got up at midnight to take her medicine, her mother-in-law came with her. Indira told Sonia not to worry, I am with her. That night Indira stayed up late or rather she could not sleep.

He was discussing with RK about the planning for the whole day. Then suddenly the security personnel posted there, Beant Singh, took out his revolver and started firing at Indira. His first bullet hit him in the stomach. After this Beant fired two more bullets at Indira which hit her chest and waist. Satwant was standing a few feet away with an automatic carbine. He was in panic. Then his friend Beant shouts at him and tells him to shoot. Satwant regains consciousness and pierces Indira's body with 25 bullets.

Suddenly the whole atmosphere shook with the sound of gunshots. There was chaos and within no time Indira was shot one after the other. After some time he said goodbye to the world.

Indira Gandhi is not called Iron Lady for nothing, she did these big things including dividing Pakistan into two parts.
