'Ghee was not supplied to Tirupati temple', Amul files complaint against rumour mongers – Top News Bulletin

Amul, one of the largest dairy products companies, has filed a complaint against those spreading rumours. Amul's complaint states that it was held responsible for supplying adulterated ghee to the Tirupati temple, while the company has never supplied ghee to the temple. Earlier, Amul had shared a post on social media and clarified that it has never supplied ghee to the Tirupati temple. Along with this, the company had said that its ghee is completely pure. It is delivered to the customers only after testing.

Amul has filed a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Ahmedabad. Some social media posts claimed that the ghee used in the laddus of Tirupati temple was supplied by Amul. The complaint alleges that misinformation was spread to damage the reputation of Amul. The complaint states that some people posted misleading information on social media with the intention of defaming Amul, falsely claiming that the ghee used in the prasad was supplied by the company.

False allegations against Amul

Speaking on the issue, Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), said, “For several days, there have been posts alleging that the ghee used in Tirupati temple laddus is adulterated, with some people claiming that this ghee was supplied by Amul. I want to clarify that Amul has never supplied ghee to Tirupati Devasthanam. We have lodged an FIR with Ahmedabad Cyber Crime against those who are trying to drag Amul into this controversy and tarnish its reputation.”

Chandrababu Naidu has made allegations

On September 19, Chandrababu Naidu had claimed that the previous YSRCP government led by Jagan Mohan Reddy did not even spare the Sri Venkateswara temple and used substandard material and animal fat to make laddus. Later, a lab report also confirmed the presence of animal fat in the laddus distributed to the devotees of the temple. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has termed it a “serious issue” and demanded punishment for those who used animal fat in Tirupati laddus.
