Kolkata: The government of West Bengal has released the holidays calendar for the next year. In this calendar, state employees will get a total of 150 days of leave. There will be 10 days leave each for Durga Puja and Kali Puja celebrations. Holidays calendar published by Finance Department.
Long holidays for Durga and Kali Puja
State government employees will get 12 days leave during Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja. The holiday begins on Friday, September 26 with holidays given for Chaturthi and Panchami (Saturday, September 27). September 28 is Sunday, while Saptami, Ashtami, Navami and Dashami (all government holidays) will be observed on September 29, September 30, October 1 and October 2 respectively. Gandhi Jayanti is also on 2nd October. Additional holidays have been given on October 3 and 4.
Long holiday even during Kali Puja
It is Sunday on 5th October. There will be holiday on 6th and 7th October also. In this way, there will be a total of 12 days leave for Durga Puja. After this the employees will return to work from October 8 to October 17. Then the employees will get 11 days leave including Kali Puja, Bhatri Dwitiya and Chhath Puja. The Kali Puja holiday will begin on October 18, which is a Saturday, although the main celebration is on October 20 (Monday).
Additional holidays have been announced for Kali Puja on October 21 and 22, followed by Bhatri Dwitiya on October 23 and an additional day off on October 24. October 25 and 26 are weekends, while the holiday will end with Chhath Puja holidays on October 27 and 28. There will be 11 days uninterrupted leave for state employees from October 18 to October 28.
