A businessman, his wife and her maid allegedly died of suffocation after a fire broke out in their house on Diwali here. Police have said about this incident that this accident happened due to fire in the wooden temple made at home.
How did the accident happen?
According to the police, this accident took place in Pandu Nagar of Kakadev police station area of Kanpur. A fire broke out in a wooden temple built in a house here at around 3 in the morning. Due to this, businessman Sanjay Shyam Dasani, his wife Kanika and domestic help Chhavi Chauhan have died due to suffocation. According to the police officer, late night prayers were performed at the businessman's house and a lamp was lit in the temple of the house.
Electronic lock became the cause of death
Police have said that the businessman, his wife and the maid had lit a lamp and gone to their room on the first floor to sleep. They were sleeping when the fire spread in the house. According to the police, the couple had installed an electronic lock in their room. At the time of the fire they failed to press the correct code to unlock the lock in their panic. He tried to open the door of his room, but could not do so because of the electronic lock.
Life could not be saved even after going to hospital
Police have said that when the couple's son returned at 4 o'clock after celebrating Diwali with friends, he saw the house on fire. After this, police and fire brigade personnel came and the fire was extinguished. The couple and the domestic help were rushed to the hospital as soon as possible but the doctors there declared them dead. (input language)
