There was a sensation in Jharsuguda city of Odisha when the son of a retired officer from the post of General Manager of Mahanadi Coalfield Limited in Bombay Chowk area of the city tried to show his father's reach and power by openly firing in the air. This incident is related to encroachment, in which the accused had forcibly occupied the road.
According to the incident, the son of accused Ramji Singh was encroaching on the road. When Vikas Aggarwal, the owner of the land adjacent to this road, sent laborers to clean the road adjacent to his land, Ramji Singh's son protested against it. First he fired a bullet in the air and then when the workers threatened to complain, he fired a second bullet towards the workers also. There were no casualties in this incident.
Workers gave information regarding the incident
Giving a statement regarding this incident, the workers said, “We had come to clean the road connected to our owner's land. The first time we came, Ramji Singh's family threatened us and chased us away. We are talking to Vikas about this. Came to the spot again after complaining. This time again Ramji Singh's family abused us and threatened us. When we asked to complain to the police, Ramji Singh's son first fired in the air. And then opened fire on us. Thankfully the bullet missed us and we were safe, but strict action should be taken against this person.”
What did the owner of the land say?
Meanwhile, Vikas Aggarwal said, “I went to that road after five years and found encroachment there. When I sent laborers with JCB, Ramji Singh's family opposed them and threatened them by pointing a gun. Ultimately Ramji Singh's son Also opened fire. It is clear that Ramji Singh's family has taken over the road and we expect action from the police in this matter.”
The workers captured the video of this incident on their cameras, in which the accused youth can be seen holding a gun. The license of this gun is with Ramji Singh, who was given this license in Hazaribagh in 1985. Ramji Singh has retired from the post of General Manager of Mahanadi Coalfield Limited. After this incident, the police have taken the accused youth and his father Ramji Singh into custody and started investigating the case. (Report- Shubham Kumar)
