Mumbai: There has been a demand to give 'Bharat Ratna' to famous industrialist and honorary chairman of Tata Group Ratan Tata. A resolution in this regard was passed in the Maharashtra Cabinet. In the Maharashtra Cabinet meeting, it was decided that the name of industrialist Ratan Tata should be proposed for the Bharat Ratna Award and sent to the Central Government. The Central Government will now take the final decision on this proposal of the Maharashtra Cabinet.
A condolence resolution was passed in the Maharashtra Cabinet meeting condoling the demise of Ratan Tata. After this it was decided to propose his name for the Bharat Ratna Award. Maharashtra government will now send this proposal to the central government.
Died in Breach Candy Hospital
Let us tell you that Ratan Tata died late on Wednesday night at the age of 86 in Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. He was ill for the last few days. He was admitted to the hospital as his health problems increased. His last rites will be performed today at the cremation ground in Worli.

Ratan Tata was born on 28 December 1937 in Mumbai. He was the Chairman of Tata Group from 1991 to 2021. During this period, he played an important role in taking Tata, one of the oldest business houses of the country, to new heights by setting many records in the business sector.
Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan Awards
During his 21-year tenure, he increased the company's revenue by more than 40 times and profit by 50 times. He helped Tata Tea acquire Tetley, Tata Motors acquire Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel acquire Corus. He also prepared the concept of Tata's Nano car. In the year 2000, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India and in 2008, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan Award.
