Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar was rescued and brought to Munsiyari tehsil headquarters on Thursday morning. He is completely safe. On Wednesday, his helicopter was facing difficulty in taking off due to bad weather. After this an emergency landing had to be done. He stayed overnight in Ralam village. During this time the lock of a house in the village was broken. The owner of the house has migrated somewhere. Rajiv Kumar and other people present in the helicopter remained sitting in this house after burning wood.
At 3 in the morning, a team of villagers from the nearby village reached Ralam and by 4 in the morning, the ITBP team also reached the spot. Ralam village is at an altitude of 15000 feet. Because of this there were many problems in the rescue. However, in the morning the Chief Election Commissioner and others were brought to Munsiyari in the same helicopter.
Landing took place on Wednesday afternoon
On Wednesday afternoon, the helicopter of the country's Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar made an emergency landing in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. Due to bad weather, his helicopter was landed at Ralam in Munsiyari. State Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande was also present with him. This helicopter was going from Pithoragarh towards Milam. Then the plan was to go from Milam to Nanda Devi Base Camp for trekking. Meanwhile, this incident happened at 1 pm due to bad weather.
