New Delhi: Along with the announcement of assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the dates of by-elections for 48 assembly and 2 Lok Sabha seats of 15 states have also been announced. Voting for Nanded Lok Sabha and Kedarnath assembly seats will be held on November 20, while at other places voting will be held on November 13. Counting of votes on all these seats along with Maharashtra and Jharkhand will be done on November 23. Let us tell you that by-elections are to be held on maximum 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.
By-elections will not be held in Milkipur and Basirhat yet
Let us tell you that the by-elections for Milkipur in Uttar Pradesh and Basirhat Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal have not been announced yet. The Election Commission said that due to the election petition being filed in the High Court for Milkipur seat, by-elections are not being conducted at present. The Commission said that this petition was filed regarding the election results in 2022. Let us tell you that Milkipur assembly seat was vacant after MLA Awadhesh Prasad won the Lok Sabha elections. This seat is very much discussed in the politics of Uttar Pradesh and everyone was interested in where the by-elections would be held here.

By-election in Wayanad on November 13
Let us tell you that by-elections are to be held on Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala on 13th November. This seat has become vacant after the resignation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi stood from Wayanad as well as Amethi seat and won both the seats. He later decided to retain the Amethi seat and resigned from the Wayanad seat. Apart from Wayanad, by-elections will also be held in Nanded Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra because its MP Vasantrao Balwantrao Chavan died on August 26.
