New Delhi: After the defeat in Haryana, churning continues within the Congress. No leader of Haryana Congress was involved in this brainstorming by the top…but now former CM and senior party leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda has come under target in this brainstorming. The Congress high command has asked Bhupendra Singh Hooda for a report with evidence from the twenty centers in which Hooda had alleged irregularities in EVMs. Along with the defeat, dissatisfaction is coming to the fore in the party. While the OBC front of Congress has alleged neglect during the elections, many candidates have directly accused Hooda of conspiracy by name.
Fact Finding Committee
Meanwhile, Congress has also decided to constitute a fact finding committee to consider the reasons for the defeat. According to sources, this decision was taken in the meeting of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi with senior party leaders related to this election. Sources say that in this meeting, Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were given detailed information about the election results and complaints related to Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from many places were also mentioned. Sources say that Rahul Gandhi is serious about getting to the bottom of the reasons for this election result and fixing accountability.
results unexpected
After this Congress meeting, Maken said, “The election results of Haryana were reviewed in this meeting. You people (media) would also agree that the results were unexpected. There was a world of difference between the exit polls and the actual results. What could be the different reasons were discussed.'' He said that information about further steps will be given later. When asked about the non-attendance of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Congress General Secretary Kumari Selja in this meeting, Maken said that all those who were invited had come.
EVMs should be kept sealed until the investigation is completed.
Earlier on Wednesday, Congress had informed the Election Commission about the complaints related to Haryana Assembly election results and demanded an investigation. A delegation of senior leaders of the main opposition party had also requested the Commission to keep those Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in question sealed till the completion of the investigation. Congress had termed the results of Haryana assembly elections as 'unexpected' and 'against the public sentiment' and said that this mandate cannot be accepted as there has been 'victory of the system and defeat of democracy' in the state.
