Big blow to Muslim side from Shimla Court in Sanjauli Masjid case – Top News Bulletin


Shimla: The petition of All Himachal Muslim Welfare Organization in the Sanjauli Masjid case has been rejected by the Shimla District Court. The court has upheld the decision of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner's court. According to this, the work of removing the illegal part from Sanjauli Masjid will continue. Muslim Welfare Organization had challenged the decision of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner's court in the district court.

The Municipal Corporation Commissioner's court had given this order

Earlier, on the basis of the affidavit of the Sanjauli Masjid Committee, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner's court had ordered the removal of the upper three floors of the mosque within two months. Muslim Welfare Organization had approached the District Court against this decision. The case regarding Sanjauli Masjid is pending in the court of Municipal Corporation Commissioner and the next hearing is to be held on 6th December.

Muslim party can challenge the order in the High Court

Chairman of Sanjauli Masjid Committee gave this information

Sanjauli Masjid Committee Chairman Mohammad Latif said that the court has rejected the petition of Muslim Welfare Organization. Now the Municipal Corporation Commissioner's decision regarding Sanjauli Masjid will remain intact. Latif said that the work of removing the roof and a temple above the mosque has been done. Also, due to non-availability of labour, the work of removing the illegal part of the mosque will not be done till March.

At the same time, local residents' lawyer Jagatpal has welcomed the decision of the district court. He said that in this entire matter, there are orders from the High Court that this matter should be settled as soon as possible. In such a situation, he has expressed hope that the Municipal Corporation will take a final decision on the matter.
