A day after the death of a Belgian paraglider, another paraglider in Himachal Pradesh's Manali died on Wednesday after hitting a mountainside. This paraglider was a citizen of the Czech Republic. The officers provided this information. Cases of death of two paragliders have been reported in Himachal Pradesh in two days before the Paragliding World Cup-2024 starting from November 2 in Beed Billing in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.
Dita was doing paragliding for 6 years
The dead paraglider, identified as Dita Misurkova (43), crashed into the mountains near Madhi in Manali. According to preliminary information, he lost control of the glider due to strong winds. He said the paraglider was immediately taken to a hospital in Manali, where he was declared brought dead. An experienced paraglider, Misurkova had been paragliding for the last 6 years.
Belgian paraglider dies after parachute fails to open
A Belgian paraglider died in Bir Billing on Tuesday after his parachute failed to open after colliding with another paraglider in mid-air. Avinash Negi, director of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS) in Manali, said, “A proposal to install special towers on high mountains to mark accident sites in view of accidents is under consideration.” 130 paragliders from 50 countries will participate in the World Cup to be held here from November 2 to 9.
