96 percent MLAs of Haryana are millionaires, ADR report comes out – Top News Bulletin


Haryana Assembly elections are over. Bharatiya Janata Party has got majority for the third time. In such a situation, the report of Association for Democratic Reforms i.e. ADR has also come out. According to ADR report, 86 MLAs i.e. 96 percent of the newly elected 90-member Haryana Assembly are crorepatis. At the same time, 12 MLAs i.e. about 13 percent MLAs are facing criminal cases against themselves. ADR and Haryana Election Watch has released these figures after analyzing the affidavits of all 90 MLAs. These figures show that the number of crorepati MLAs has increased from 93 percent in 2019 to 96 percent this time.

Most of Haryana's MLAs are millionaires

These figures show that out of 90 MLAs, 44 MLAs have assets worth more than Rs 10 crore. Whereas there are only 2.2 percent MLAs whose assets are less than Rs 20 lakh. Among the candidates who won, the average wealth of each winning candidate is Rs 24.9797 crore, which is significantly higher than Rs 18.19 crore since 2019. If seen party wise, 96 percent MLAs of BJP and 95 percent MLAs of Congress and 100 percent winners of both INLD and Independents have declared assets worth more than one crore. Independent MLA from Hisar Savitri Jindal is at the top in this list. Let us tell you that his total wealth is more than Rs 270 crore.

How many MLAs have criminal cases registered against them?

After this, BJP MLAs Shakti Rani Sharma and Shruti Chaudhary are in second place, who have Rs 145 crore and Rs 134 crore respectively. A total of 30 MLAs have been re-elected to the Assembly in the year 2024, whose average wealth has increased by 59 percent in 2019 from Rs 9.08 crore to Rs 14.46 crore. According to ADR data, 12 MLAs among the candidates who won the elections have faced criminal cases. Out of these, 6 MLAs are facing serious charges. There is also an allegation of attempt to murder against an MLA. Seven MLAs who were elected in 2019 had serious criminal charges against them. If we talk party wise, 19 percent of Congress MLAs, 6 percent of BJP, and 67 percent of independent MLAs have declared criminal cases against themselves.
