Jaipur. The process of urination is a way of removing toxins and excess water from our body. The kidneys filter blood and produce urine, which is stored in the bladder through the ureters. The bladder acts like a sac that stores urine.
When the bladder fills, it sends signals to the brain, causing the urge to urinate. When urinating, the bladder muscles contract and the muscles of the urethra (urethra) relax. Urine comes out easily through this process. If this coordination gets disturbed for some reason, then there may be a problem of urine dripping drop by drop after urination.
If I explain to you in very simple language, just like a pipe is not completely empty and water keeps dripping little by little, similarly the urine left in the bladder can come out drop by drop.
Reasons and solutions for dribbling urine,
Muscle weakness: This problem occurs when the muscles of the bladder or urethra become weak. Weak muscles are not able to expel urine completely, due to which the remaining urine drips drop by drop.
Pelvic muscle exercises- In this exercise, actions like stopping and releasing urine are done. Doing this 1015 times a day strengthens the muscles. How to do this exercise? If you are sitting on a chair, tighten the muscles near your private parts as if you are trying to stop urination.
Prostate gland problems (in men): Due to enlargement of prostate gland in men, the urethra becomes narrow, due to which urine does not come out completely. Just as water does not flow out properly when there is blockage in the pipe, similarly urine gets stuck due to enlargement of prostate.
Solve this problem by staying at home like this:
Drink more water and try to empty the bladder while urinating.
Incomplete emptying of the bladder (retention): Sometimes the urine remaining in the bladder comes out drop by drop. This may be due to nervous system disturbances or weakness of the bladder. In simple language, just like there is some water left in a cup and you empty it by turning it twice, double voiding can be helpful. After urinating, wait for 1520 seconds and try to urinate again.
Weakness of the nervous system:
The communication between the bladder and the brain can be impaired due to diabetes, spinal cord injury, or any neurological problem. In simple language, just as messages reach late when the phone network is weak, similarly in case of nerve problems the signals from the bladder do not reach the brain at the right time. Get into the habit of recognizing bladder signals. Meaning, as soon as you feel slight urination, go to urinate immediately.
Urinary tract obstruction or infection: Stones, inflammation, or infection (UTI) in the urethra can cause urine retention and dribbling. In simple language, just as a dirty pipe causes blockage, infection or stones affect the urethra. Drink enough water to keep the urethra clear.
Pressure or tension in the stomach:
Constipation or abdominal pressure can affect the bladder, causing urine to drip drop by drop after urination. In simple language, just as pressure on a sac causes the remaining liquid to come out, similarly the pressure of the stomach affects the bladder. Take fiber rich diet and try to keep your stomach clean. Exercise regularly.
Bring all these changes in your lifestyle: Drink enough water, this will keep the body hydrated and keep the urinary tract clean. Reduce caffeine and alcohol as these substances irritate the bladder.
Consult a doctor as in case of repeated problems, it becomes necessary to seek expert advice. With all these measures, the problem of urine dripping after urination can be prevented and helps in living a normal life.
