New Delhi . According to Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav, the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) has made the traditional medical system accessible to all.
The Minister said this while unveiling a film series titled “Ayush for All: Holistic Healthcare through National AYUSH Mission” in the national capital. The series showcases the remarkable progress and transformative impact of the National AYUSH Mission.
Jadhav said, “Through this film we want to make the public aware of our various schemes. Its objective is to provide information about the important role of AYUSH in reducing the burden of diseases and promoting health services.”
The series highlights reallife stories of how National AYUSH Mission (NAM) partners with state and union territory governments to reach out to rural and underserved populations. Improvements have been made and outofpocket expenses have been reduced.
According to the ministry, the National AYUSH Mission aims to strengthen AYUSH health services, promote preventive care through Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AYUSH) and integrate AYUSH systems with mainstream public health.
The National AYUSH Mission also emphasizes on the development of AYUSH educational institutions to enhance the quality of education and research. Moreover, the scheme has supported the establishment of 167 integrated AYUSH hospitals and upgraded 416 AYUSH hospitals and 5036 dispensaries.
Every year, essential AYUSH medicines were provided to 996 hospitals and 12,405 dispensaries. The National AYUSH Mission also supported 16 new AYUSH educational institutions and upgraded 112 others.
Additionally, 3,883 Yoga Wellness Centres, 1,055 AYUSH Grams and 12,500 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AYUSH) were established, according to the ministry, thereby promoting holistic health across the country.
According to Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, NAM focuses on strengthening AYUSH health services, setting up Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AYUSH).
“These initiatives are transforming public health and improving access to preventive and promotive care across the country,” he said.
