To take care of your heart, 'World Heart Day' is made every year on 29th September. On this day people are made aware that they should take special care of their hearts. This year the theme of 'World Heart Day' has been kept as 'Use Heart for Action'.
On this occasion, spoke to Dr. Kirti Chadha, Chief Scientific and Innovation Officer, Metropolis Healthcare Limited, with the aim of making people aware.
Dr. Kirti Chadha said, “At present, globally, cardiovascular disease (CVD) is being seen more in men as well as women. An estimated 17.9 million people die from heart disease each year. Bad lifestyle is the biggest reason behind this. Also said that recent research has also revealed that Covid19 is also an important factor behind this.
The doctor said, “Heart attack cases have been increasing rapidly in the last few years. For this, it is important that a person should keep getting his health checked from time to time.
Dr. Kirti Chadha has advised to get regular blood tests and many important tests done. He said that testing helps in identifying causes like hyperlipidemia and diabetes which are responsible for heart attack.
He said, “Many global studies have revealed that Indians are at the highest risk of heart attack in the world. The cases of heart attack occurring among the youth are a matter of concern. For this, it is important to lay emphasis on regular testing and prevention measures. There is also an increase in the cases of heart attack due to genetic reasons.
He further said, “In this era of the digital world, public thinking is also changing rapidly. We are not just victims of genetics or lifestyle, but we also want to deeply understand the connections between our genes, daily habits, and global health crises, so that we can take care of our hearts. Today people are very worried about their health. He gets tests done regularly, so that he can take appropriate steps at the right time to take care of his heart.
He said that many researches have confirmed that some markers like apolipoprotein E and apolipoprotein A1 are directly related to heart disease. Many diseases related to cholesterol levels, blood pressure, inflammation and heart health can be easily detected through simple tests. In such a situation, the doctor has advised people to get themselves checked regularly.
