Jaipur. Checking blood pressure at home without any machine can be a bit challenging, but with some common signs and measures you can estimate your blood pressure level.
However, remember that it is not possible to obtain accurate and precise measurements without medical equipment. Nevertheless, by paying attention to some body signs and your symptoms, you can estimate whether your blood pressure is normal or not.
Pay attention to body symptoms:
Low blood pressure (hypotension): If you suddenly feel dizzy, weak, tired, or lightheaded, these may be signs that your blood pressure may be low. Especially when you get up or stand suddenly, dizziness may occur.
High blood pressure (hypertension): Symptoms like severe headache, blurred vision, difficulty in breathing, pressure in the chest or swelling in the body can also be signs of high blood pressure. If these symptoms persist for a long time, you should consult a doctor.
Check pulse:
If you don't have a blood pressure machine, you can check your pulse. Through pulse rate you can estimate whether your blood pressure is normal or not.
Normal pulse: It ranges between 60 to 100 beats per minute (bpm). If your pulse is too fast or too slow, it may be a sign that your blood pressure may be abnormal.
Pulse check: Feel the pulse on your wrist or neck and count for a few seconds. Then convert it to 60 seconds to find the pulse rate. If this rate is too high or too low, you should consult a doctor.
Pay attention to body position:
Headache or dizziness: If you often feel headaches or dizziness, these may be signs of high or low blood pressure.
Fatigue and weakness: If you feel very tired or lack energy in doing any work, this can also be a sign of abnormal blood pressure.
Pay attention to physical activity and diet:
Balanced diet: Regularly consuming fruits, vegetables, and a lowsalt diet keeps blood pressure normal. Additionally, exercise can also help control your blood pressure.
Stress and Anxiety: Mental stress and anxiety can also affect blood pressure. Try to reduce stress with regular meditation or yoga.
Practice breathing: Taking deep and long breaths can improve blood pressure. It helps relax your body and can reduce the symptoms of high blood pressure. Although these methods can help you estimate your blood pressure, still, it is very important to visit a doctor for accurate measurement and right treatment.
Ignoring a blood pressure problem can be dangerous for your health, so if you experience any of these symptoms, it is essential to consult a specialist.
