Is there a little Witcher in your life? Maybe an unusually young Geralt of Rivia fan, or a kid who wants to know what their parent's favorite book/video game/streaming franchise is about? Well, you're in luck, because CD Projekt Red, the creators of the Witcher video game series, have teamed up with Penguin Random House to bring Little Witcher to life in the form of an all-ages graphic novel illustrated by Giada Carboni.
Little Witcher doesn't quite enter Muppet Babies territory (although a little Geralt of Rivia sounds oddly adorable). Instead, it focuses on an all-ages narrative about the training of young Ciri, Geralt's adopted daughter, as the venerable monster hunter teaches her how to be a witch and tries to get her to go to bed on time.
“Young Ciri's extensive training in Kaer Morhen, the witcher stronghold, includes everything she needs to learn to survive the many threats in her world… as well as all the mischief and fun of a little girl who joins his adoptive father and his family,” reads Penguin Random House's official description of Little Witcher.
“Sure, bedtime stories may include warnings of monsters farting when surprised, and Geralt can invoke the Witcher Code to get Ciri to brush her teeth or clean her room, but even the formidable White Wolf knows to give up when “It's about bedtime battles or afternoon tea with toys,” he continues.
It's hard to imagine a better proposition for a book aimed at connecting families through a franchise that, while extremely popular with people of all ages, is often aimed solely at adults. Little Witcher will be available on May 13, 2025.
