- Withings Omnia reflects your health statistics
- Withings says the mirror will also pull data from other devices
- At the moment, there is no information on pricing or release date.
The weird and wonderful tech extravaganza that is CES 2025 kicks off this week, and one of the products that's already caught our attention is the Withings Omnia: an AI-powered smart mirror that gives you a complete assessment of your health as well as showing your reflection. . .
In reality, Omnia covers an entire ecosystem of products, although the smart mirror is the big new idea. Data will also be pulled from other Withings devices to give you a complete summary of your key health metrics.
However, there is some sensing capability built into the mirror, through a base that you stand on that measures weight, heart health, and metabolic health. Heart rate and blood pressure are two statistics the mirror can monitor, and Withings says it will also be able to perform ECG (electrocardiogram) scans and detect signs of atrial fibrillation.
Combined with other paired devices, you should be able to use the Omnia mirror to gain insight into almost anything to do with your heart health, from the quality of your sleep to workout recovery and VO2 max monitoring.
Ask an AI
In addition to collecting some of this data, the mirror will display statistics on the screen and give you relevant information about them through an artificial intelligence assistant. You may see a recommendation to schedule a checkup with your doctor or simply include more minutes of activity in your day.
Withings calls the robot AI Vocal Companion and, in true AI chatbot style, it will be able to ask questions about your health and get answers in return, although it is not known what this AI has been trained on or how likely it is. will be making mistakes.
For now, this is still in development, so there's no news on price or release date. However, Withings certainly seems committed to making Omnia a reality, with Withings founder Eric Carreel calling it “a monumental step toward health technology” that will “transform personal health.”
With Withings' strong track record in launching products in this category, we expect Omnia to move beyond the concept stage, and parts of the AI roadmap are scheduled to begin appearing in the Withings app later this year.
