A fan-made project that is remaking Oblivion using the Skyrim engine, Skyblivion, has just released its latest roadmap. It's almost finished and the promised 2025 release should still happen, so we have another game to be excited about next year.
In the video, the narrator says “we are finalizing the world map and only the Nibene region on the eastern border of Cyrodiil remains to be completed.” This is an impressive feat since Oblivion is almost 33% larger than Skyrim, but eight of the nine regions have been completely landscaped. Anvil's city has also been “reimagined to realize its original concept art.”
The interiors of many buildings and locations have also been completed, all showing fantastic progress and the sewers and watchtowers are fully furnished. Currently, the team is focusing on mission locations “that require more time and concepts” compared to other areas.

Most of the 3D objects in the game, such as trees, enemies, and armor, are already finished. There are 2508 objects to remake, so it's a big task. The Storyteller is asking any 3D artists interested in botany and plants to volunteer to help get the game over the finish line.
As for missions, “last year we had more than 100 missions yet to start. Today, only six remain untouched.” We took a look at two of the remastered missions earlier this year and they look fantastic.
All of the music from the original game has been added, and some new songs are being added to boot.
However, it's worth noting that only the base Oblivion game has been worked on so far to ensure the game comes out in 2025, and the team will be looking for DLC once the game is available. The project has been in development since 2018, so it has been a very long project and the team still needs volunteers to help. You can apply here if you think you can help.
Another big Elder Scrolls mod project, Project Tamriel, has released a playable portion of the game that aims to recreate all of Tamriel in Morrowind.
