Switch 2 leaks become deluge as dummy units shown at CES

Accessories maker Genki showed off accurate models of Nintendo's Switch 2 at the CES 2025 trade show in Las Vegas.

French website Numerama tested one of these models and was told by Genki representatives that it was based on access to the actual Switch 2, which it hoped to launch in April of this year.

Incredibly, the report claims that it's now also possible to access a real Switch 2 unit through the black market, “if you put up the money.”

Nintendo hasn't announced the Switch 2 yet, but at this point it seems there's little left to know about what the next-gen handheld will look like.

Still, these latest images (and video below) of the fictional Switch 2 unit that Genki shows off give us our best look yet at the hardware.

As we've seen in images of several previous Switch 2 accessories, and as reported separately before that, the Switch 2 will be a slightly larger version of Nintendo's current hardware, with an additional “C” button on the right Joy-Con , magnetic. accessories for controllers and an additional USB-C port on the top of the device.

Videos shown at Genki's booth, and now also on the company's Website, show a very detailed look at the new Switch 2 Joy-Con, including its previously rumored optical sensor.

On the other hand, another accessory manufacturer has begun advertising its own accessories through Amazon in Japan. Cover images of a Switch 2 console from Laziro offer another look at what the handheld is expected to look like:

“Nintendo won't have much time in January, so a possible announcement at the beginning of the month could make sense,” industry analyst Serkan Toto told Eurogamer last month. “You can bet Nintendo is aware of all the leaks and is not happy about them.”

Nintendo has revealed little about the Switch 2. Officially, we only know for sure that the console will be announced before March 31 and that it will be compatible with Switch 1 games.
