Stardew Valley 1.6 is coming to consoles and mobile on November 4, developer Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone has confirmed.
In a tweet on Sunday, Barone simply said, “Stardew Valley update 1.6 release date for consoles and mobile: November 4th.” While that may seem a bit long, it doesn't leave much to the imagination and confirms that those tending to their farms away from the PC will have to wait roughly another six weeks for the update to release.
Stardew Valley Update 1.6 Release Date for Consoles and Mobile: November 4September 22, 2024
However, given that they've already had to wait around six months, maybe it's not such a bad thing. Stardew Valley 1.6 launched in March, offering PC players over 500 changes, including pets, new neighbors, dialogue, and crops, as well as plenty of bug fixes, quality of life changes, and an easter egg that dedicated fans wasted no time in discovering.
The wait for Stardew Valley's 1.6 release on consoles and mobile has been long, but it's not because Barone has been slacking off. On the contrary, in July he said the update was “on my mind every minute” and confessed that he “hasn't touched” the new Haunted Chocolatier game “in a long time” due to his focus on getting the update to all platforms.
Presumably, now that Stardew Valley 1.6 is out in the open for all players, work on that new game will resume. So far we’ve only seen the tiniest bits of Haunted Chocolatier – the last of which was a snippet of information that appeared back in March, and before that we had a bunch of screenshots that were released last fall. There’s no sign of Stardew Valley 1.7, at least for now, but for those yearning for something truly new, maybe that’s a good thing.
