Chris Miller, one half of the producing duo Lord and Miller, has responded to rumors surrounding Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse that the film is struggling to get made.
“Nothing has been ruled out. Filming is going well,” Miller tweeted simply.
An earlier report from The Insider suggested that “creative differences” between the team have pushed the film's release back to 2027, as much of the movie has been “scrapped.” However, Miller says this is not the case.
Spider-Verse composer Daniel Pemberton also addressed the rumors, tweeting: “I don't really want to weigh in on this kind of stuff BUT would you ever believe that sometimes there can be things on the internet that aren't always particularly accurate?”
The sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse does not yet have a release date, although it was initially scheduled to hit theaters on March 29, 2024. Singer d4vd recently teased a possible 2025 release date for the film, restoring fans' faith and excitement, but her involvement in the film has yet to be confirmed. According to actor Karan Soni, voice recording for Beyond the Spider-Verse has yet to begin as of August 2024, but the film is “well underway in production.”
Across the Spider-Verse, starring Shameik Moore as the voice of Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023, and proved to be another massive hit, grossing over $690 million against its $100 million production budget.
