A milestone for the remake of Silent Hill 2
Publisher Konami and developer Bloober Team are proud to announce that the Silent Hill 2 remake has surpassed one million units worldwide as of October 11. It is a huge achievement for this long-awaited masterpiece. The game came out for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on October 8.
The world of Silent Hill 2 is now more immersive than ever, thanks to high-end graphics and sound improvements. This remake version features ray tracing and other advanced improvements. The haunting atmosphere feels surprisingly real now, drawing you deeper into the haunting world. The addition of new immersive soundscapes makes you feel like you're really in the middle of a haunting environment. The new version also expands the map with larger environments, allowing you to explore areas that were previously inaccessible or completely new. While the acclaimed story remains intact, expanded locations invite you to rediscover the city with new eyes.
A switch to an over-the-shoulder camera perspective replaces the fixed angles of the original, bringing you closer to James' experiences. This change ratchets up the tension, making each encounter with the city's grotesque monsters feel more personal and terrifying. Combat has also evolved, classic weapons like the steel pipe and the pistol have returned, but with a modernized system. Now you'll have to dodge attacks with precision and aim down sights, adding levels of challenge to each monster encounter, making them more intense than ever.
