RIG 600 PRO HS Acid Camo Review
Over the past decade, advances in sound technology have significantly improved video game experiences. Spatial audio allows you to identify your opponent's location, enhancing competitive matchups and also increasing the intensity and immersion of single-player adventures. Because of this, finding the right headset is essential to fully immerse yourself in the game. With so much variety on the market, selecting the right one can be a daunting task. Originally released in 2023, the RIG 600 PRO received an update with an all-new paint job and cushions. Will this new version of the product help elevate the headphones above the competition?
Comfort is paramount with headphones. There is nothing worse than having to stop a session because the cups cause irritation. Fortunately, the updates to the RIG 600 PRO focus on this aspect. In collaboration with Wicked Cushions, the new PadZ includes dense memory foam wrapped in a sports fabric that offers unprecedented levels of comfort. At just 240 grams, these lightweight headphones are perfect for long sessions, reducing fatigue due to minimal head and neck strain.
A perfect fit
With the ability to release the earbuds, you can modify the earbuds to get the best fit. It is a simple feature that allows for customization. The addition of a soft, padded headband helps give the headphones balance. These aspects combine to create one of the most comfortable experiences that improves your screen time.
As well as improving comfort levels, the WC PadZ also helps isolate noise so you can fully immerse yourself. While the headphones have a decent setup out of the box, pairing them with the mobile app allows you to customize the sound, which can lead to surprising results. You can create custom settings or select from available presets to get the right sound for your session. Adjustments can be made through your mobile device, which is a quick and easy method to modify settings. Personally, I found this user-friendly method to be easy to use, allowing me to optimize the settings efficiently.
Due to mobile connectivity, the RIG 600 PRO can interact with your device. You can set notifications you want to receive and answer calls through the headset. This is a great feature that makes the product more versatile, allowing you to get more out of the device. Compatible with all major platforms, you can use the USB and/or Bluetooth wireless adapter to connect devices. With dual mode, you can balance the audio from two outputs, opening up a range of possibilities.
Amplified
Supporting Dolby Atmos 3D means games sound fantastic over headphones, especially after tweaking the app a bit. Space technology amplifies the intensity of the game to immerse you even more. Compared to others in the same price range, the RIG 600 PRO outshines its peers. There is a full spectrum of levels that bring out the highest tones and amplify the bass. These elements combine to offer a superior gaming experience.
The omnidirectional microphone includes a nice boom microphone that flips out of sight and mutes when closed. It's a great design option that's easy to use while you're busy playing online. The microphone itself is clear and includes noise cancellation technology so the device simply picks up your voice. All controls are also integrated into the left earcup, allowing you to quickly and easily access all of the earbud's functions.
A new look
The new Acid Camo adds a yellow and gray pattern over the earcups. Personally, I'm not a fan of the design as it lacks the subtlety that many require when using headphones like this out and about. Although the modern design may appeal to younger players, older players may prefer a more understated look that blends with everyday attire.
The RIG 600 PRO HS Acid Camo strikes an excellent balance between comfort and sound quality, making it one of the best headphones in its price range. The new Wicked Cushions are a notable improvement that effectively isolates sound to fully immerse you in your game. While it requires some adjustment via the mobile app, this setting unlocks excellent sound quality that can be tailored to your preferences, delivering rich bass and clear treble for both gaming and multimedia. While I'm personally not a fan of the Acid Camo aesthetic, the product is an impressive upgrade, placing it firmly among the best headphones at this price.
