Crow Country, the acclaimed PS1-inspired survival horror adventure from Snipperclips developer SFB Games, is bringing its retro terrors to PS4 and Switch on October 16.
Crow Country, which launched for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in May, catapults players back to 1990 and the titular theme park of Edward Crow, a man who disappeared under mysterious circumstances two years earlier. “Don't be fooled by the capricious surroundings,” jokes SFB, “something is terribly wrong in Crow Country.”
Discovering what that something could be is precisely the task at hand as players, as Special Agent Mara Forest, explore the theme park and investigate its long-abandoned attractions, solving riddles and riddles, chatting with the strange inhabitants. from the park and fighting. the surprisingly monstrous creatures that roam its confines.
And for those who prefer to focus on the mystery of Crow Country's history and its interesting puzzles, rather than deal with the stress of its (a bit rubbish) combat, there's also a comparatively calmer exploration mode.
“Filled with silly jokes, relatable one-liners, and a self-aware irreverence that's surprisingly refreshing,” Eurogamer's Vikki Blake wrote in her four-star review in May, “Crow Country doesn't take itself too seriously.” Yes, it's filled with many of the tropes and conventions so associated with old-school horror, but not afraid to poke fun at them a little from time to time, Mara is both unnerving and seductive, and a companion. together, you try to piece together this baffling mystery.
And if a cheerful piece of clever, retro-inspired horror sounds like just the ticket as the spooky season begins, Crow Country will be available for Switch and PS4 on October 16.
